I just formatted my Vista install and installed Windows 7.Microsoft being Microsoft it assumed it was the only OS on my disk and replaced grub.To fix:
Delete from the registry. I don't know your version of Windows, but for Windows XP and 2000, the mail profile is in:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles.
Locate the bad one and delete it.

A friend who I haven't converted to Linux (yet) just told me he is running out of disk space. Hopefully this article will help him.
Running low on hard drive space? Here are some programs that can help:
Windirstat (http://windirstat.info/) - Will help you find large files/folders that maybe you don't need anymore?
CCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/) - Will remove lots of rubbish you almost definitely don't need anymore.
Do a "Microsoft Update" on Win 7. Install "Windows DirectSound" "ICH AC97" controller.
Or what worked for me (on windows 7 64bit) http://www.realtek.com/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=23&PFi...
Download the Vista/Win7 (32/64 bits) Driver only (ZIP file) file (AC97).
Trying to install Windows 7 in Virtualbox on Ubuntu. Kept getting this error message:
"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now."
Solution:
I had to turn on passthrough on my dvd drive in the virtual machine settings.

Had my first experience of Windows Server 2008 today.
It seems there is great emphasis on 'Roles' and 'Features'. So far it is not too bad-despite the Vista-ness of it all.
One thing: Vista/Server 2008 does not include a utility to restore from .bkf files by default (Server 2008 has a very nifty/fast backup from the look of it though).
You need the Windows NT Backup - Restore Utility: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=7da725e2-8b69-4...
Also you need to install a 'Feature' for it to work:
